My wife, Barbara, and I spent the first couple months of this year skiing at Vail. We had a great time and much of that had to do with Vail Sports - especially the Managers at the two stores we did business with. You should be very pleased with yourselves for having Jair Sherzer and Sarah Amundsen as managers of those stores. Not only were they both really great at dealing with us, but they do a great job running the stores they manage.
When my wife and I first inquired about renting a basket for the season, Jair offered us a long term rate that made it possible to store our equipment there. Not only that, but he included courtesies that applied to our guests. The end result was that our guests who rented skis, rented from Vail Sports and bought other things there as well. It worked out well for us and our guests and also for Vail Sports. It was "win-win" all the way.
My wife was one of the people who rented skis from Jair, but when she became interested in renting "Demos", he sent her over to Sarah' store. Sarah was not only knowledgable, but also pleasant and really great to work with. Sarah and her team helped Barbara try several pair of skis. Barbara absolutely fell in love with one particular pair and ended up buying them. In fact, Barbara liked the skis so much that she talked one of our other guests (also named Barbara) into buying a pair. Later, when another friend of ours was interested in new skis, I suggested that she talk to Sarah as well. She thought Sarah was one of the most knowledgable people she had ever worked with and she too bought a pair of skis from her.
I was particularly impressed with the way the managers of the two stores worked together. This made it easier for us and resulted in several thousand dollars of sales and rentals between the two stores. It really worked well.
I must also mention other the staff members at the two stores. Both stores were clean, well organized, well stocked, pleasant and staffed with friendly knowledgeable people. We were in Jair's store almost every day and every day we felt very welcome. It was clear that the people there were happy and expressed that positive feeling to all the customers all the time. Everyone was always busy, but never too busy to help a customer. It is one thing to hire good people, but quite another to keep them doing a great job interfacing with the customers. The attitude among all the workers in both stores is something that Jair and Sarah should be very proud of - as should the three of you.
So, on behalf of my wife and me, I want to thank you for the great service we got from Vail Sports this winter.
